Thrifting :-)

Today I went to a thrift store with my Mom and sisters, and picked up a few things. :-) I also got my hair cut by my Mom. :-) Opinion - Does it make me look older or younger? ;-)

Skirt with matching jacket. I love the business look! :-) The blue pumps my Grandma gave me out of her beautiful collection of shoes! <3>

With a shirt also from my Grandma's beautiful clothes collection! :-)

Purple shirt from the thrift shop. :-) You can't see it, but it has little flowers all over it. :-) I may cut my bangs a bit shorter, what do you think? :-)

So you can see the back of my hair. :-) (I curled it today. :-)).

Funky shirt-dress. :-) Just for fun. Trying to decide if I like this style or not! :-) Here my bangs are pulled back. :-)

One of my new favorite outfits!

(I love the way the skirt is white with black spots, and the shoes are black with white spots! :-)).

My Aprons! :-)

I think every lady should own as many pretty aprons as she possibly can! ;-) They are fun, pretty, practical, and you can hand them down to your Granddaughters someday! (My Grandma still has some of my Great Grandma's aprons! :-)). So here is a post showing off my current collection. (Excluding one red apron - I'm going to decorate that one before showing it off! ;-)).
(Note - Aprons make really good gifts to any lady - And they are fairly easy to make yourself! :-)).

This pretty little half apron I picked up at the Big-E fair last year! It was handmade by someone, and they sold it there. I had a couple dollars to spend, and as soon as I saw this apron I fell in love with it! I recently wore it while working in the garden over my nice white skirt (same one I am wearing in this picture), it really helped keep my skirt nice and clean! :-)

This is an apron I made a couple years ago. :-) I made one for each of my sisters (with my Mom's help! ;-)) for Christmas that year, but different material! :-) I love this apron because is is practical, but still really pretty and has a 1950's swing to it! :-) I love the ruffle at the bottom! :-)

This lovely apron was made for me from a dear friend out of a curtain! It's so fancy, and ruffly! :-) I thought it was such a cute idea to make it out of a curtain, and it's grand to wear it doing laundry, and other things around the house! :-)

My most recent - a birthday present from my Grandparents! I love how this apron, although modern, does not have the normal, boring, modern pattern and material. Although the tag claimed "not to be my Grandmother's apron", I must disagree! It has the lovely old-fashioned air that I love about my "Grandmother's Aprons"! The green is so summery too!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post!! Feel free to do a picture post of your own lovely aprons, and leave me the link in my comments so I can see them! :-)

Some cute outfits!!!

One of my favorite pictures - the checkered dress, sailor white color with the bow!!! SO cute, I want it for my own! ;-) Looks like a perfect summer day dress for either being at home with perhaps a little matching apron, or for going on a picnic with a special someone, or visiting with friends for the afternoon. It would look cute with either nylons and a pair of little black heels, or bobby-socks and little white sneakers. (Her hair is extra cute too, but I will do a hair post another day! ;-)).

These two classy ladies look ready to go boating, playing lawn tennis, or some other sporty event. I love the classy, but playful look.

Doesn't this just strike you as the perfect school day outfit? A pretty blouse, a plain, but classy, skirt. Finished off with the little black belt, and the little bow at the neck.

Yet another Jane Powell style! What a classy lady! :-) Her black shirt is dressed up a bit with her red and white checkered neck-tie and a little gold pin. This could make a good school or work outfit with a pretty, but plain, shirt with it. I believe she wore a light blue skirt in the movie with this outfit, but I would try different colors, and see what you like best! :-) Different color neck-ties would be fun to try too! And what could be better then one of those old-fashioned phones? My grandparents have a phone that is a bit like that, and the wide ear and mouth piece feel just so wonderful on your ear!! :-)

Not the best picture of this dress (to see a better one, watch the video on my side bar). It is actually a blue checkered one. Very pretty, and perfect for a summer day around town. :-) I love the boy's 1948 outfit behind her too! :-)

The middle girl's outfit would be really cute as a play dress, or even perhaps as a school dress. The other ladies could be school or work clothes. I love the girl's shoes on the right. And the middle girls bobby-socker look. The girl on the left is looking very business-like with a vest and a straight shirt. The girl on the right has on a pretty, but professional looking blouse, and a pretty straight skirt.

And last, but not least, this cute outfit of Judy Garland!! Perfect for a summer day of tennis, or being on the beach for the day! Her plain white dress is jazzed up with a little jacket over it, and she wears comfortable sandals with it. If you were afraid of getting a white dress dirty, just change the color!! A yellow one would look so pretty too, and still be cool!!! :-)
